Wine Spectator magazine recognized four dining spots at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood for their wine selections.

Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, Cipresso, Fire Grill, and Kuro all won the 2024 Restaurant Awards from the lifestyle publication.

Council Oaks won the Best of Award of Excellence for the second consecutive year. Wine Spectator magazine “recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers and a thematic match to the menu in price and style.”

The other three dining establishments won Award of Excellence honors.

Hard Rock restaurants have won wine awards in the past

The Seminole Tribe of Florida operates six of the eight casinos in Florida, including the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, their flagship property. The Miccosukee Tribe runs the other two.

While lawmakers have not legalized Florida online casinos yet, Floridians can play online casino games through sweepstakes and social casinos, which use virtual money.

Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Vice President of Food & Beverage Pablo Astardjian was thrilled with the awards. In 2022, the publication honored Council Oaks, Kuro, Cipresso and Abiaka.

“We are honored to be recognized once again for our outstanding wine program. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering an exceptional wining and dining experience for all guests to enjoy our esteemed restaurants.”

Awards program launched 43 years ago

Most of the awarded restaurants feature triple-digit options on their wine lists, Wine Spectator wrote.

“The Best of Award of Excellence is given to restaurants that take their love of wine a step further, through staff training to ensure guests have knowledgeable assistance, hosting events such as wine dinners, or carefully designed presentation and more in-depth sourcing.”

The awards program began in 1981. Its purpose is to promote an appreciation for wine, provide wine education, and recognize restaurants that prioritize wine on their menus, said Wine Spectator Editor Marvin R. Shanken.

“The restaurant industry is growing and thriving, with openings surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time. To take advantage of the uptick, restauranteurs are re-investing in their wine programs.

“Restaurants that make wine a priority are what the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program is all about. I’m pleased to congratulate all 3,777 restaurants for their dedication to wine and exemplary wine lists.”
