Hockey fans on the southeast coast of Florida will be treated to a colorful sight during the Stanley Cup Finals.
The iconic guitar at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will be lit in Florida Panthers colors starting Saturday, June 8.
The Panthers host the Edmonton Oilers in Game 1 at 8 p.m. ET Saturday at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. The game will be played just 10 miles away from the casino.
Fans can place bets on the Panthers in Florida this year
The Panthers are appearing in the Stanley Cup Finals for a second consecutive season. One big difference for fans this year is they can place a legal wager on the team. Florida sports betting launched last November. Though, maybe it was a good thing there wasn’t sports betting in the Sunshine State during last year’s finals. The Panthers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games.
This season, the Panthers’ 110 points placed them first in the Atlantic Division. They defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers to get to the finals.
Oddsmakers have them as favorites against the Oilers. FanDuel Sportsbook lists them at -134 to win the series, and -138 to win Game 1.
Guitar will be lit in navy blue and red
The 450-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower is a famous landmark on the skyline. It’s designed to resemble two guitars laid back-to-back. The guitar will be lit in the Panthers’ prominent navy blue and red during the finals.
The Guitar Hotel Light Show will still take place at 9 and 9:30 p.m. The Seminole Tribe of Florida also has an online drone video that illustrates prior colorful iterations of the guitar-shaped hotel.
Sports fans who don’t have tickets to the games can enjoy the hockey action at one of four bars at Hard Rock Casino. They can take in the action on large-screen televisions at Hard Rock Sports Bar, Center Bar, L Bar, and Oculus Bar.
