MLS Betting Odds
Online sports betting is not yet active in Florida. This page will be updated with the latest promos, news and odds once Florida sportsbooks launch.
Major League Soccer may currently lag behind a variety of international leagues when it comes to prestige, but there is a decent following of the league in the United States. The state of Florida has two MLS teams: Inter Miami and Orlando City.
Inter Miami is a relatively new franchise and finished with a record of 7-13-3 in its inaugural season in 2020. Orlando City, meanwhile, has 10 years as an organization and went 11-8-4 in the previous season.

How to read MLS odds
Being familiar with sports betting odds is important no matter what sport you are betting on, and you should have a firm understanding of what the numbers mean before you place an MLS bet. There are a few ways sportsbooks will display sports betting odds, including MLS soccer odds, but the majority of what you’ll see in the United States will be moneyline odds, aka American odds.
To calculate what the odds mean, it is easiest to use $100 to explain. With negative odds, that means you would need to bet the number shown for a chance at a $100 profit. For example, if you see odds of -155, that means this outcome is more likely to occur, so you’d need to bet $155 to receive a $100 return.
With positive odds, meaning something is less likely to happen, the payout is higher if you correctly pick a winner. For example, if you see +155 odds, a winning $100 bet would result in a $155 profit.
Bets you can make on MLS games
Sportsbooks are competing for new users to their platforms, so they are getting more creative in the number of bets available. Here are some examples of what you can expect to see for MLS bets:
MLS Moneylines
The moneyline bet is the easiest to understand because all you are betting on is which team will win. Of course, some teams are better than others, and the odds will reflect that. For example, if you correctly bet on the favorite to win, the payout would be less than what it would be if you correctly wagered on the underdog. Additionally, because so many ties happen in soccer, there is a third option that allows you to bet on a draw.
MLS Spreads
The spread is oddsmakers’ way of evening the playing field to give lesser teams a bit of a head start, and bettors can bet a number of spread options with various odds. For example, if you feel confident Inter Miami will win by at least two goals in an upcoming game against the LA Galaxy, you could bet Inter Miami as 1.5-goal favorites. If the team wins by more than 1.5 goals, you’d win the bet.
MLS Totals
Totals, aka over/unders, are bets on the total combined goals from both teams in a game. Just like the spread, there are plenty of options. For example, Orlando City could have a matchup against Toronto FC. If you think the two MLS soccer teams could combine to score three or more goals, you could bet the over on 2.5 goals. If the final score is 2-1, for instance, you’d win your bet.
Draw no bet
A draw no bet is similar to the moneyline from above, except there is no option to bet on a draw. Instead, you need to correctly predict the winner, and if a draw occurs, the sportsbook would refund your bet. Like the moneyline, your odds would vary depending on whether you’re betting on the favorite or the underdog.
MLS Cup Futures
Something to check out prior to the season and as it is rolling along are the futures odds, which includes soccer odds on choosing the winner of the MLS Cup. The odds will fluctuate based on a variety of reasons like roster moves, injuries, team performance, percentage of bets and more. Bets like these can be difficult because so much can happen between the start of the season and the MLS Cup, and there are so many potential outcomes to choose from. Because of the difficulty, picking a futures bet correctly often pays out quite high.
Soccer prop bets
Most of the popular bets will depend on the outcome of the game, but plenty of bettors will take a look at the prop bets, as well. Here are the three main categories of props you’ll find for MLS games:
- Player props: For instance you could bet on a specific player to have two or three shots during the game, whether a player will notch an assist and more.
- Team props: Some popular props on team accomplishments include total team goals, whether the team will score a penalty, whether a team will win in a shutout, etc.
- Game props: Options include bets on whether both teams will score, the winning margin, exact score, total shots on target, offsides calls, the number of fouls and more.
Other types of fun soccer bets
As sportsbooks add more betting options to try to add more users to their platforms, a couple of soccer bets have become increasingly popular: bets on halves and corners.
Halves
The betting options under the halves category are significant. You can place some of the standard bets like moneyline, total goals and more, but just for a specific half. For example, you could bet on which team will be winning at halftime. Other halves bets include which half will feature the most goals, the exact score of the first or second halves and more.
Corners
A popular betting option is trying to predict the number of corner kicks that will take place in the game. A sportsbook will set a line, and you can bet whether the total corner kicks in the game will be over or under that line.
Inter Miami odds
Even as a new team in the league, Inter Miami should see a decent number of bets, especially in the state of Florida. See our page of Inter Miami odds for more.
Orlando City odds
Orlando City is the more established team in Florida, going on a decade of existence, and should see plenty of wagers from bettors in the state. See our page of Orlando City odds for more.
Live MLS soccer betting via apps
Bettors used to make sure they got their wagers in prior to the start of the game, but that no longer has to be the case thanks to live betting. Odds will shift throughout the game based on the latest events, and you can bet as the game is going on. Numbers will move rapidly by the second, so you need to be quick in getting your bets in at the optimal time. Sportsbook apps are the most efficient way to go after the in game betting market.
Best sportsbooks for betting on MLS
Taking advantage of legal sports betting is a much safer process than using an offshore sportsbook or unregulated bookie. Regulating the industry is important, and sportsbooks have rules they must abide by state by state. Florida should have some of the top sportsbooks available in the state, including Hard Rock Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook and BetMGM Sportsbook .
Shopping lines for MLS bets
Shopping for the best lines for a bet you want to place is a no-brainer. The various sportsbooks will usually have similar MLS betting odds, but they still may be slightly different, so it can be a good idea to check multiple sources to see which has the best line for your bet. Lines may move for many reasons, and one of them is sportsbooks trying to minimize risk by adjusting numbers when a large percentage of bets is going to one particular side.
When you find a bet you’d like to place, you can shop around at the sportsbooks you signed up for and identify the best potential payout. Beating the sportsbooks is difficult, so it’s important to take advantage of any edge you can get.
