Miami Grand Prix Odds

Online sports betting is not yet active in Florida. This page will be updated with the latest promos, news and odds once Florida sportsbooks launch.

Thanks to the launch of the first American Formula One racing team since the 1980s and the Netflix favorite “Drive to Survive,” the popularity of F1 racing is on the rise on this side of the Atlantic.

In fact, F1 viewership was up more than 40% in the US in 2020. Starting in 2022, Miami joins the F1 schedule with the Miami Grand Prix on a track running around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

With Inter Miami CF soccer playing to sellout crowds and Euro-party culture long embraced in South Florida, F1 racing should fit right in. And betting on the Miami Grand Prix could be just as big a hit. Here’s how you can bet on the Miami GP, including the latest odds, which drivers to think about putting your money on and all the latest race details.

Odds to win Miami Grand Prix 2023

Betting on Formula One races is mostly about picking winners. And you can bet on which driver will win the Miami GP in 2022 well ahead of the race. Check the latest Miami Grand Prix winner odds below:

Miami GP track layout

F1 looked at more than 75 track layouts at various proposed race sites across South Florida, including 36 surrounding Hard Rock Stadium. Eventually, it landed on the current layout, a 19-turn street circuit-style track with Hard Rock Stadium smack in the middle of it all.

That means you can see every corner on the race track from the top deck of the stadium, which will be part of the spectator plan. Estimates are that F1 cars will average 138 mph around the track and should reach top speeds of 198 mph.

There are three possible DRS zones and overtaking opportunities coming out of them, including at Turn 11, Turn 17 at the end of the circuit’s longest straight and possibly into Turn 1 following the third DRS zone on the pit straight.

How to bet on the Miami Grand Prix

As we outlined earlier, you can bet on a driver to win the Miami GP before the race. You can also bet on who will win the season-long F1 World Championship or F1 Constructors’ Championship (teams) in futures markets all year long.

The F1 Miami Grand Prix odds can change throughout the season, but you lock in the odds as they are when you place a bet. That said, F1 betting is more than just picking race and championship winners. You can bet on drivers to finish on the podium at reduced odds. Plus, give the odds a boost by betting on a driver or drivers’ exact finish, like the trifecta in a horse race.

Available F1 odds for the Miami GP may also include the following:

  • Fastest practice: Who will post the fastest lap time in practice?
  • Pole position: Who will earn pole position for the race in qualifying?
  • Winning margin (qualifying): How much faster will the fastest lap in qualifying be than the second fastest?
  • Lap 1 lead: Who will lead after Lap 1?
  • Fastest lap: Who will post the lowest lap time?
  • Winning margin: How many seconds will the winner win by?
  • Winning car: Which team will have the winning car?
  • Driver vs. driver head-to-heads: Who will finish better in various head-to-head matchups?
  • Safety car: Will the safety car have to come out?
  • Driver specials: Will a driver get a time penalty, lead after any lap, be the first or last to pit, or retire on the first lap?
  • Number of classified drivers: How many drivers will be “Classified” (complete 90% of the race)?
  • To be classified: Will a certain driver be classified?
  • First driver to retire: Will a certain driver be the first to retire? Will any driver retire?
  • First constructor retirement: Which team will be the first to retire?

Live betting on the Miami Grand Prix

Live F1 betting can bring even more life to your wagering, allowing you to bet on the action in the middle of the race. That means you can adjust your betting strategy according to actual in-race data. Live F1 betting allows you to bet on all the same props that were available ahead of each race and more, all at odds that change with the action on the track, including the result of each lap and interval.

Bet on who will drive the fastest lap, who will be the fastest in the next lap, every lap thereafter and more. The prop betting options are many, but the odds change pretty fast, so use a sportsbook app to keep up.

Essential Miami Grand Prix betting tips

Betting on the Miami Grand Prix should be fun, but winning will make it even more enjoyable. If you want to win big, you’ll have to do more than just back Hamilton or Verstappen to win. Particularly since the prices on these two might make for rewards that aren’t worth the big risk.

Pay attention to race results coming into Miami, research the top teams and drivers, and develop your own predictions. Plus, pay attention to these three basic F1 betting tips:

  1. Weather, man: Miami averages about seven days of rain in May. Will race day be one of them? Pay attention to the weather because it can have an impact on the outcome of the Miami Grand Prix.
  2. Who’s hot?: There are four races to start the 2022 F1 season ahead of the Miami GP, just enough for one or more drivers to develop a hot streak coming into South Florida. Finding out who is racing well could be key because there’s zero info on past performances in Miami to go on.
  3. Practice and qualifying: Starting grid position has a major influence on the outcome of any Grand Prix race, especially on a track like Miami’s, with only two or maybe three overtaking opportunities. Knowing who grabbed the pole is different from seeing a driver do it. You can get a good understanding of the different racing dynamics at play by watching practice and qualifying laps.
