VSiN is now on the air in West Palm Beach

Sports betting is still not legal in Florida. Don’t tell that to VSiN. The sports betting radio network VSiN is now on the air in West Palm Beach.

The company announced a partnership with iHeartMedia via its local affiliate Sports Radio 1230 The Gambler earlier in June. VSiN will provide 22 hours of live sports betting programming per day.

VSiN and iHeartMedia have pegged the West Palm Beach market as one to target when sports betting becomes legal in Florida. The network already serves several markets where sports betting is still illegal, including California, Massachusetts and Missouri.

Providing real-time sports betting news and analysis

Sports Radio 1230 The Gambler will have VSiN’s entire portfolio of live offerings. Those include morning talk shows and insights from former NFL players and executives. Shaun King, Mike Pritchard and Michael Lombardi host shows. Broadcasting icon Brent Musburger leads the station’s lineup.

In addition to the 22 hours of VSiN shows each day, Sports Radio 1230 will feature local programming each weekday from 3 to 5 p.m. Spero “The Greek” Georgedakis will host “The Greek Zone.”

Sports Radio 1230 Program Director Brian Mudd believes the format will work in South Florida:

“We’re thrilled to bring this informative and entertaining brand of sports talk to local sports fans. Sports betting as a 24/7 format, and specifically the expert analysis from VSiN and our very own Greek, is a perfect choice for The Gambler.”

Quality content for free

VSiN partnered with iHeartMedia on Jan. 1, 2021, making it free for listeners. VSiN was only available to SiriusXM subscribers before that.

When VSiN made the change, it did so with the goals of improving the quality of its product and reaching a broader audience than was possible behind a paywall. iHeartMedia’s live streaming capabilities and vast-reaching iHeartRadio network were the perfect tools to help accomplish those goals.

Now, VSiN has expanded to 140 radio stations across 31 US states, continually expanding its reach since gaining access to iHeartMedia’s airwaves. In addition to live programming, VSiN also offers numerous podcasts. Most of them are also focused on sports betting.

Expanding as the industry grows

With VSiN’s content anchored in sports betting, the company’s growth over the last few years makes sense. Sports betting has also grown exponentially over that time, with more new markets continually looking to open nationwide.

The expansion into West Palm Beach fits for VSiN and iHeartMedia. Sports Radio 1230 The Gambler is a rebranding of iHeartRadio’s former 1230 The Zone, a CBS Sports affiliate. VSiN Founder and CEO Brian Musburger agrees.

“As regulated sports betting continues its expansion across the U.S., we’re proud to be The Gambler’s choice to help educate and entertain the incredibly passionate sports fans in this top-50 media market.”
