Monkey Knife Fight Becomes Exclusive DFS Partner With Miami Dolphins

A monkey, a knife, a fight and a dolphin; it’s the perfect combination.

On Tuesday, the burgeoning daily fantasy sports platform, Monkey Knife Fight (MKF), announced the finalization of a partnership with the Miami Dolphins that makes it the Dolphins’ exclusive DFS partner.

“The Dolphins brand is an iconic and internationally recognized tradition, with incredibly passionate fans,” MKF CEO Bill Asher said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to introducing ourselves to them as we’re certain they’ll love playing fantasy sports with us.”

MKF deal will promote brand in multiple ways

Being the exclusive DFS partner for the South Florida football franchise has several implications for MKF.

Per the company’s statement, the new partnership has several implications.

MKF will provide “exclusive contests tailored to Dolphins fans.”

The Dolphins will incorporate MKF branding across social media outlets and external marketing. In other words, MKF should show up in commercials, online ads, and the Dolphins’ multiple social media platforms.

The team will feature a weekly “Monkey Knife Fight Player Profile,” although details about this element weren’t provided in the MKF statement.

Also, the Dolphins will rebrand their pregame radio show and call it “Monkey Knife Fight Countdown.”

Dolphins Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Steve Mullins said:

“We are always looking to enhance the fan experience at Hard Rock Stadium and this partnership with Monkey Knife Fight is a great way to engage with our guests with one of the most exciting brands in the fantasy sports arena. We’re very excited to welcome them to the Dolphins family.”

Partnership includes $100,000 donation

In addition to branding and DFS opportunities, MKF announced a $100,000 donation to the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program.

As part of the program, the Dolphins hand out 1,000 meals at Hard Rock Stadium every weekday.

The franchise launched the program in June to combat food insecurity and provide jobs.

MKF’s platform winning big with fans, franchises

The MKF platform diverges from traditional DFS play. Rather than emphasizing contests between users, MKF focuses on more/less prop bets. For example, will Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic score more or less than 28.5 points against the Houston Rockets?

Additionally, the platform offers prize multipliers for parlay-style bets that include multiple over/unders and player vs. player matchups.

Their over-under model has won over its fair share of fans and franchises. MKF is available in 30 states and Canada (excluding Quebec).

In the past year, MKF forged partnerships with the following franchises, players and companies:

  • San Diego Padres
  • PGA golfer Charley Hoffman
  • SoaR Gaming (bets on Fortnite tournaments)
  • Los Angeles Wildcats (XFL)
  • Los Angeles Chargers

The Dolphins are the second team to bring on MKF as their  exclusive DFS provider. It’s likely that the partnerships will continue, and that the extent of the marketing and revenue will grow as the NFL increases its support of sports betting.

Earlier this year, the Denver Broncos were the first franchise to announce a partnership with a sports betting operator when it inked a deal with FanDuel.
