Explain point-spread betting
Here, you’re wagering on the margin of victory between the Eagles and the Falcons. In the example above, the Falcons need to win by more than four points and the Eagles would need to lose by less than four points, or win outright, to cover the spread.
What about the total?
Also referred to as over/unders, this is a bet on the total number of points you think will be scored by both teams as a collective. If the Falcons versus Eagles game ended, 29-26, the total number of points would be 55. In the case above, those betting on the over would win.
