Florida Lottery ticket sales totaled $9.7 billion in the 2025-2026 fiscal year, a 6.35% increase from the prior year and a rebound from the softer results state economists had been tracking earlier.

Scratch-Off games remained the biggest driver, producing $7.14 billion in sales, while draw games reached $2.56 billion. The lottery said sales, investment earnings, and unclaimed prizes generated about $2.36 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

Scratch-offs and draw games both posted gains

According to the Florida Lottery, Scratch-Off sales increased by more than $308 million year over year. Lottery Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships Alecia Collins said Scratch-Off games “continued to be a strong contributor” to the lottery’s overall performance.

Draw game sales also rose by more than $271 million to $2.56 billion. Collins said that category also saw “significant growth.” The reported draw-game total does not include state revenue from recent rollover jackpots in Powerball and Mega Millions.

The latest figures mark a turnaround from the recent trend. Florida Lottery sales had fallen to about $9.1 billion in fiscal 2024-2025 and $9.4 billion in fiscal 2023-2024 after reaching $9.8 billion in fiscal 2022-2023.

Forecast outlook improved after stronger-than-expected sales

Earlier projections had pointed to slower lottery performance, with state economists attributing weaker play in part to inflationary pressures and lower scratch-off sales. But the Revenue Estimating Conference later said stronger-than-expected Scratch-Off sales improved the outlook.

In a Jan. 15 conference report, the panel said the gain to the forecast was “largely attributable to higher-than-expected Scratch-Off sales” and that the newer data suggested “stronger year-over-year growth than originally anticipated.”

For Florida players, the update does not announce any rule change or new game launch. But it does show continued demand across the state’s lottery products and a bigger-than-expected contribution to education funding.

What to watch next

State economists are scheduled to review the numbers again on Aug. 7, ahead of an overall state revenue update on Aug. 14. Those meetings could provide a clearer picture of whether the latest lottery growth is holding and how it fits into Florida’s broader revenue outlook.
