Four Atlantic City properties are in the running for USA TODAY 10Best’s latest ranking of the best casino hotels in the U.S., with public voting open through Aug. 24.
The nominees from Atlantic City are Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, Ocean Casino Resort, and Resorts Casino Hotel. USA TODAY’s expert panel selected 20 casino hotels nationwide for the contest, describing the nominees as properties that “offer the best of all worlds: top-notch gaming, excellent amenities and first-rate accommodations.”
For Hard Rock Atlantic City, the nomination puts another spotlight on one of the more recognizable casino brands for gambling audiences in Florida, even though this contest is centered on New Jersey and other national markets. According to the source material, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City features more than 2,000 slot machines and over 100 table games, including an Asian gaming room.
The other Atlantic City nominees were highlighted for a mix of gaming, hotel, and resort amenities:
- Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa: luxe amenities, Atlantic Ocean views from many rooms, a large casino, spa, pools, retail, and restaurants including Angeline by Michael Symon.
- Ocean Casino Resort: the Eclipse Indoor/Outdoor Pool, private cabanas, Exhale Spa + Bathhouse, restaurants, nightlife, Ovation Hall entertainment, and what the source says is the country’s largest TopGolf Swing Suite.
- Resorts Casino Hotel: opened in 1978 as the first legal casino outside Nevada and now offers 80,000 square feet of gaming space, an indoor/outdoor rooftop pool, entertainment venues, restaurants, a spa, fitness center, and health club.
After voting closes at noon on Monday, Aug. 24, the field will be narrowed to 10 hotels. The winners are scheduled to be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
For players and casino travelers, the ranking does not change gaming rules or operations, but it does offer a snapshot of which casino resorts are drawing national recognition for their overall hotel-and-gaming experience.
