The Seminole Tribe announced a partnership Thursday with a slot machine company to offer a seven-figure progressive jackpot game.
Aristocrat Gaming and Seminole Gaming are launching a new slot machine called Dollar Storm. The two companies partnered together previously with a game called Dragon Link.
The machine will feature a progressive jackpot starting at $1 million linked solely between the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa and Hollywood locations. The two casinos with the new game are the Seminole Tribe’s two largest casinos in Florida.
Dollar Storm will be available in the high-limit area
Dollar Storm will be located in the high-limit slot machine area at both properties. The progressive jackpot will be available for bets of at least $5.
Based on comments from Seminole Gaming’s vice president of gaming operations Juan Martinez, the $5 minimum bet is a lower price point than the Dragon Link machine.
“First came the Dragon and now comes the storm,” said Martinez in a press release. “We are excited to offer the newest $1 million progressive from Aristocrat. Since November 2021, we’ve had seven $1 million winners on our Dragon Link machines across our Seminole Hard Rock properties in Hollywood and Tampa. We look forward to offering the $1 Million progressive awards to an even larger audience with the new $5 minimum bet option.”
The game adds to an already massive slot selection
The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa has one of the largest collections of slot machines on the planet. With more than 5,000 machines spread out over 245,000 square feet of gaming space, there are only three casinos with more slot machines than the Seminole Tampa location.
Here are the five casinos with the largest slot machine selections:
- WinStar World Casino and Resort (Thackerville, OK) – 7,471 slot machines
- Resorts World NYC (Queens, NY) – 6,500 slot machines
- Empire City Casino (Yonkers, NY) – 5,300 slot machines
- Seminole Hard Rock Tampa (Tampa, FL) – 5,000 slot machines
- Maryland Live! (Hanover, MD) and Borgata Resort Casino (Atlantic City, NJ) – 4,000 slot machines each
The Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood falls just outside the top 10 on this list with about 3,000 machines onsite. Between the two flagship Seminole locations, there are more than 8,000 slot machines combined.
Both properties recently completed massive renovations
The addition of these massive progressive slot jackpots come just a few years after both Hollywood and Tampa finished an overhaul of the properties.
In October 2019, the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood wrapped up a $1.5 billion renovation project. It included the new 36-story guitar-shaped hotel tower, a doubling of its casino floor space and the addition of new restaurants and bars.
On the other hand, the Tampa location finished a $700 million expansion that same month. The property added a second hotel tower, three more pools, a new spa, more gaming space to bolster their slot machine selection. It also completely redesigned the poker room and renovated some of the interior design.
The Tampa property is the Seminole Tribe’s most profitable casino. Hard Rock International, the corporate umbrella of the tribe, generates roughly $6 billion per year. Seminole Hard Rock Tampa makes up about $1 billion of that annual revenue.
