Caesars Entertainment released plans for the hotel at the new Harrah’s Pompano Beach towards the end of 2022.
Last February, the company announced it would rebrand and renovate its lone Florida casino. The gaming giant said Isle Casino Pompano Park would be turned into Harrah’s Pompano Beach.
Additionally, Caesars shut down the horse racing track on the property a few months later. Then, the company began construction to expand the casino. When the renovation is complete, there will be 15,000 square feet of new gaming space and a new “gaming terrace” with 12,500 square feet of outdoor gaming.
Caesars is making the new casino the cornerstone of a larger entertainment complex called Live! Resorts Pompano. The complex is a joint venture between Caesars and The Cordish Cos., a Baltimore-based company that owns the Live! casino brand.
Caesars submits plans to local government
Last November, the company revealed plans for the hotel and submitted them to the Pompano Beach Development Review Committee.
The committee didn’t indicate on its website whether the plans were approved. However, the two parties were already in constant communication. Therefore, there’s no reason to believe the plans weren’t accepted. The committee previously approved the two companies for 4,100 residential units and 1.3 million square feet of commercial use.
The commercial space included a hotel with up to 950 hotel rooms and a 300-seat arena.
According to a report from the South Florida Business Journal, Caesars’ plans showed a 176-room, seven-story hotel. It also features 2,600 square feet of meeting space, a ground-level pool and a rooftop bar. The complex will also feature a retail center and a Topgolf driving range.
Caesars officially renamed the property to Harrah’s Pompano Beach last month. But the company is still renovating the property. Neither Caesars nor The Cordish Cos. announced a concrete timeline for its completion.
Before Caesars merged with Eldorado Resorts in 2020, the company didn’t have a presence in Florida.
Eldorado, on the other hand, owned Isle Casino. Once the merger was complete, the Pompano casino fell under the new Caesars brand.
