Crypto.com and PYMNTS Intelligence plan to launch a new set of AI-focused event contracts in September, expanding Crypto.com’s prediction-market lineup beyond sports.
The companies said the products, called AI Predictions Market Contracts, will debut on Crypto.com’s OG Prediction Markets with an initial batch of 20 contracts. They also said they expect to add 25 more contracts each quarter as the partnership grows.
How the AI contracts are supposed to work
According to the announcement, the contracts will settle based on independently measured changes in AI adoption and deployment rather than on indirect indicators such as chip demand, cloud spending or tech-company earnings.
The measurement framework uses rules-based metrics drawn from three areas: consumer behavior, corporate deployment, and company and broader market disclosures. Consumer behavior data will be refreshed monthly, while the other two categories will be updated quarterly.
One of the underlying measures for enterprise deployment is based on what the companies described as a nationally representative study of 500 U.S. enterprises and the executives responsible for AI strategy and investment.
What this means for the prediction-markets space
For Crypto.com, the launch marks a further move into non-sports event contracts. The company entered the prediction-market category in late 2024 with products tied to the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl. This new rollout broadens that offering into AI-related markets aimed at participants seeking a way to express views on adoption trends across the economy.
The companies framed the products as a direct-read alternative to markets that try to infer AI momentum from adjacent signals. In their description, the contracts are designed to reflect current shifts in adoption through regularly refreshed research rather than one-time events or historical averages.
What remains unclear
The announcement did not specify which jurisdictions will be able to access the contracts, who exactly will be eligible to trade them, or the detailed settlement thresholds for each market.
For readers in Florida and elsewhere, those rollout details may matter as much as the product concept itself. As launch approaches, the key points to watch are the final contract rules, availability by jurisdiction, and any additional information on how the independent measurements will be verified.
