Kalshi’s prediction market on Mike Norvell’s future at Florida State is now leaning toward a coaching change, with the market pricing a 60% chance that he will be out as Seminoles head coach by Feb. 1, 2027.

Market moved higher even after Florida State won
The Sports Illustrated report said a $10 trade on Norvell being out would return a $6.20 profit if that outcome hits at settlement.
The move came despite a season-opening win, but the underlying numbers in that game did little to quiet concerns. Florida State entered the matchup as a 31.5-point favorite and won by 17. Quarterback Ashton Daniels finished 17-of-27 for 202 yards with one touchdown and one interception while facing 12 pressures and taking one sack. Defensively, Florida State allowed New Mexico State to throw for 272 yards and two touchdowns.
Record, contract, and buyout remain central to the market
The market is also being shaped by Florida State’s recent results and the cost of any coaching change. The Seminoles finished 2-10 in 2024 and are 7-16 overall and 3-13 in ACC play since that season, according to the report.
Norvell had signed an eight-year, $84 million extension after Florida State’s 2023 ACC Championship run. The report said a buyout would cost roughly $51 million now and would drop to about $42.5 million at the end of the 2026 season.
