Polymarket has launched Squads, a new social feature inside its U.S. app that lets users create private groups, chat about prediction markets, share positions and trade alongside friends.
According to the company, each Squad is a private in-app space where members can discuss games, markets and predictions, view what others in the group are trading, and act on shared positions or combos. Polymarket said each user still trades through their own account.
What Squads adds to the Polymarket app
The new feature is designed to bring group-chat style conversation and trading activity into one place. In its announcement, Polymarket said users can invite friends into private groups and follow the events they care about together rather than splitting discussion and trading across different apps.
Chief Growth Officer Travis VanderZanden said the feature reflects how people already talk about predictions with friends in group chats. He said Squads is meant to combine that conversation with the ability to make trades in the same environment.
Why the timing matters
Polymarket tied the launch to Polymarket HQ, its football-season campaign directed by Peter Berg. The company said the campaign includes sports and cultural figures including LeBron James, Eli Manning, Derek Jeter, Spike Lee, Sue Bird, Richard Sherman and Rajon Rondo.
The Squads rollout also follows the recent launch of Polymarket Perps, which the company said allows users to trade price movements across crypto, stocks, commodities and indices.
For players following the prediction market space, the announcement is mainly a product update rather than a rules change. Polymarket US said it operates as a CFTC-regulated designated contract market under the Commodity Exchange Act.
What users still do not know
The announcement did not specify a broader rollout timeline beyond the launch, whether Squads is available to all U.S. users immediately, or whether any fees or monetization are attached to the feature.
For now, the key takeaway is straightforward: Polymarket is adding a more social, private-group layer to its U.S. prediction market app as it pushes into the fall sports season.
