Novig and the New York Mets have announced a multi-year agreement that makes Novig the club’s Exclusive Official Prediction Market Partner. The companies said the deal is the first partnership between a Major League Baseball franchise and a prediction market.
Under the agreement, Novig will appear across the Mets’ media and venue ecosystem through in-ballpark, broadcast, digital, and social activations. Fans can expect Citi Field signage, branded in-game moments, broadcast-visible branding, and original digital content tied to the partnership.
The announcement also comes as Novig says it is preparing for a nationwide launch next month as a federally regulated sports prediction market focused exclusively on sports. The company described the Mets agreement as its first partnership with a professional sports team.
The deal follows Novig’s designation as an MLB Authorized Prediction Market. According to the announcement, that status includes participation in MLB’s integrity program, including market monitoring, reporting protocols, and restrictions on markets that present an integrity risk to the league.
Lew Sherr, president of business operations for the Mets, said the club sees the partnership as a new fan-engagement channel and part of its broader push to work with emerging sports technologies. Novig CEO and co-founder Jacob Fortinsky said the partnership is intended to bring the company’s sports trading product directly to fans in a major sports market.
For players and sports-betting observers, the main takeaway is not a product rollout at Citi Field today, but another sign that prediction markets are moving closer to the mainstream sports business. What remains unclear is when, exactly, Novig’s nationwide launch will begin, what specific products will be available at launch, and the financial terms of the Mets partnership.
Those details will matter more than the branding itself, especially as prediction markets continue to draw attention alongside traditional sports betting and league integrity oversight.
