The New York Yankees have named Polymarket their official prediction market partner in an agreement that runs through the end of the 2026 season.

The deal gives Polymarket branding throughout Yankee Stadium, including LED boards and rotating signage behind home plate that will be visible on YES Network and Prime Video broadcasts. According to SportsHandle, the package also includes premium hospitality purchases and fan activations.

What the Yankees-Polymarket deal includes

SportsHandle reported that Polymarket bought tickets in premium hospitality areas and suites as part of the agreement. Fan-facing elements are set to include an outfield catch for kids, a Kids Run the Bases session, and opportunities to deliver the lineup card to the umpires.

The Yankees are the first MLB club to sign directly with the league’s prediction market partner, the report said. Polymarket already holds MLB’s official prediction market partner designation.

Yankees senior vice president of partnerships Michael Tusiani said the club is "excited to begin a relationship with Polymarket." Polymarket president of sports business development Ari Borod called the Yankees "one of the most iconic teams in all of sports" and said Yankee Stadium is "a natural fit for the platform."

Why the partnership matters beyond baseball

The agreement adds another major team sponsorship to Polymarket’s sports portfolio. SportsHandle said the company also struck a deal with the Rangers in January and has added Serie A in the United States, plus Bundesliga and Liga MX, to its sponsorship lineup. The article also noted that the Mets recently partnered with Novig as their official prediction market partner.

The broader significance is that prediction market operators are expanding their presence in mainstream sports while legal questions remain unsettled. SportsHandle reported that sports event contracts fall under federal oversight while closely resembling state-regulated sportsbooks, and that Polymarket, Kalshi, and Robinhood are all facing active litigation tied to that regulatory gap. The article also said New York continues to press its enforcement case against Kalshi.

For players and sports fans, the immediate effect is mainly branding and visibility rather than a newly announced product change. What to watch next is whether more MLB teams pursue similar deals, and whether ongoing litigation changes how prediction market operators can market sports event contracts in the U.S.
