Robinhood is in talks with Crypto.com about a potential partnership that could expand Robinhood’s prediction-markets business, according to a Wall Street Journal report published July 24.

If completed, the arrangement would add Crypto.com’s prediction-market contracts to Robinhood’s prediction-markets hub, giving users access to additional yes-or-no event contracts through Robinhood’s platform. The report said there is no guarantee the two companies will reach a deal.

The talks would mark another step in Robinhood’s push into event-based contracts, a gambling-adjacent market that has drawn growing attention from trading and crypto platforms. Robinhood first began offering Kalshi’s event contracts early last year and has so far relied on outside exchanges to supply contracts for its prediction platform.

The Journal report said Robinhood’s current prediction-markets partners also include Interactive Brokers’ ForecastEx and Rothera. Rothera is described as a futures and derivatives exchange managed through Robinhood’s joint venture with Susquehanna International Group.

A deal with Crypto.com could deepen Robinhood’s lineup while also putting it in more direct competition with Kalshi, which has been one of the better-known names supplying contracts to Robinhood.

Robinhood did not confirm a deal, but a spokesperson told the Journal the company “will continue to partner with multiple exchanges to ensure our customers have access to a diverse and resilient marketplace.”

For users, the immediate takeaway is that nothing has changed yet. The report did not specify which event categories or products Crypto.com might offer through Robinhood, and it did not indicate whether any regulatory approvals would be needed if the companies move forward.

What to watch next is whether the talks produce a formal agreement and whether Robinhood provides more detail on how any Crypto.com offering would fit alongside its existing relationships with Kalshi, ForecastEx, and Rothera.
